So….. when you first start a health kick you panic if you get a sweet craving. Initially I ignored them, and then I learnt about bliss balls, and then …I discovered RAWR at Kunara. I thought these delicacies were made in house as most of their products are but just discovered they are actually made by a young talented entrepreneurial woman called Jasmin.

Jasmin is a 23-year-old former model from Caloundra who began RAWR 18 months ago which are her guilt-free desserts that taste so good, look so professional, and are full of good stuff.

The desserts are all handmade, decorated, cut and delivered by Jasmin with no baking which keeps the natural enzymes and nutritional value intact.

The treats are vegan, free of dairy, soy and refined sugar and are absolutely divine.

I met Jasmin at the launch of her industrial chic warehouse cafe called “One Block Back” after a friend posted it on social media. She offered free coffee from 7am to 9am – the queue was out the door and onto the street – how does a 23 year old get this much traction on opening day! We popped in for a Charcoal Acai Bowl at about 11am and found out.

Jasmin was a model and speaking to her Mum, she has over 30,000 followers on Social Media – so a mix of good social media marketing plus a good plug from the Sunshine Coast Daily and also a nice wrap from Metropolist also helped.  Because it is set in a mostly residential estate, she is also drawing from her neighbours and visitors who can actually park at her door.

When we arrived most of the seats were taken and everyone was testing, like we were, the new Charcoal Acai bowls called One Black Bowl – which are virtually the same as normal Acai Bowls,  except I found they were a bit grainier which would be I guess the activated charcoal. I liked it and will definitely return. People were trying all the menu had to offer including coffee, bacon and eggs, brioche buns, burgers, rawr slices, acai bowls, salads, and so much more and the ambience was relaxed, happy, and chilled like our host -everything was calm, under control with no fuss or panic.

I would totally recommend you try this lovely new place, it is a great testament to the next generation of entrepreneurial young women turning their love and passion into a career – good luck Jasmin – you won’t need it!
