Having just finished a 36 hour personal indulgence at Noosa – which I think should be mandatory every 2 months – I may not even weigh in today. I definitely haven’t lost any weight this week and may have put it on but regardless it won’t serve my goals to look. Losing weight is important to me, but getting healthy is my number one goal, along with getting smaller, and this week I kept to my healthy eating…..except for a quiet drink ……which will affect the result so best I don’t look.

Week 11 Womens HQ

I went for one glorious night of freedom and ended up with a 2nd night as well! It was sheer bliss. The most telling thing to me was in my bag I had apples, dates, almonds, avocado, herbal tea, and water. Both mornings we had Acai Bowls from different places to try out and I had salad for lunch.  Of course, as you would expect there was also a bottle of two of bubbly and a margarita which was mandatory …and just delicious. The weather was perfect until we had to leave so we made good use of the pools (plural) and spas (plural) and my new togs.

I felt great. It was the first time I have looked in the mirror and thought – you look ok- presentable.  I know I still have a long way to go but it doesn’t faze me at all. We are back home now so I had avocado on corn crackers for lunch, made a new batch of bliss balls for the week and dinner will be a small portion of mustard chicken and veggies – without the wine.

These were not my fave bliss balls – they had 1 cup coconut flour, 1/2 cup rolled outs, 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1/2 cup almond butter, 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1 tablespoon local real honey, 1/4 cup cacao powder and 3/4 cup water. They are too dry and I just much prefer them with a date base but that’s ok – they are still nice.

The weeks food consisted of oats for brekky week days and the Acai Bowls on week-ends. Lunches were mixed salads and meat and veg for most dinners. Snacks were nuts, fruit and dates. On Friday I had some of the slice in the main photo – raw and amazing from Kunara – if you get the chance and crave something sweet – they have amazing food, all wholesome, freshly made and so tasty.

Week 11 Womens HQ

I just signed up for a 21 day green smoothie boot camp starting today. I feel I need to reinvigorate my routine a bit and add some exercise so I joined this free plan at www.incrediblesmoothies.com – also on Facebook and Instagram. So it’s a green smoothie everyday for breakfast and they provide the daily recipe, shopping list and a workout plan and it’s free! And I’m not being paid to promote but credit where it’s due.

Week 11 Womens HQ

At the moment I am roasting some local whole beets as I’ll use them in tomorrow’s salad and try a smoothie tonight to atone for some of my indiscretions on the week-end. They are being hailed as the next superfood, however I know my mum has been buying them whole and boiling them for salads for years. They are believed to lower blood pressure, fight cancer, reduce inflammation and increase blood flow and I’m hoping they’ll help my sore knees which seem to be the only part of my body not improving.

My self esteem is fabulous, my skin is much better, my size is reducing noticeably and my digestion is improving daily.  I used to have irritable bowel so lettuce, greens and garlic used to send me running to a loo. Diverticulitis has hospitalised me about 5 times, for a week each time, so I’m thrilled that my body is starting to work better and is accepting the changes.

Tomorrow we also start beach walking in the mornings before work – yippee! As I have one son away and one on days off – I am FREEEEE to do my own thing! Those P plates can’t come soon enough for me!

So, that’s week 11 or 77 days done and dusted.  New habits take time to form, you have to want to make the changes, believe in what you’re doing and remember why you’re doing it. I’m so glad I started. I have no problem if I have some wines or raw slice as I’ve said before – I am living life to the fullest – as long as most of the time my choices are great. I don’t pretend to be knowledgeable on the subject, my ideas are all second hand by people who have been doing this a lot longer than I have, and better. I am merely doing what works for me and I think its a great lifestyle. Again, if you want to make the changes yourself make sure you check with your doctor – I had full blood tests and x-rays so I know it is a good option for me.

Have a great week everyone – see you on the beach! Cheers Lee x
