Groan, I know – another instalment but there’s a long way to go strap yourselves in – 10 kilos down, 25 to go and not only am I recording a weekly blog – but I have a daily journal which I will publish at the end of this journey with all the nuts and bolts that go into this health journey.

It’s a fantastic time in my life and it’s all the bonuses I was not expecting that are giving me the buzz.  The uplifting of my mood, the enthusiasm I have for boring jobs and the accomplishment I feel afterwards, the extra speed I do things, my breathlessness is easing dramatically, I feel good about myself and I’m getting a backbone. I look forward to meals and enjoy the healthy options – I truly do – I really enjoy it. My body is working ….you know…better than ever.

The Acai Bowl continues to be my treat, mixed salad my staple lunch with salmon or chicken, oats and fruit remain my stable brekky and my dinners are still just a small portion of whatever I am cooking for the family eg tonight meatloaf, potato bake, roasted sweet potato and roasted pumpkin, zucchini, peas and mushrooms done with just a spray of oil –my plate has only one small piece of meatloaf, zucchini, peas, mushies and pumpkin and it is MORE than sufficient – it is wonderful.

This week has seen a lot more definition come to my face. I took my first selfie in years today…on the beach….don’t worry no thong in sight – and felt really good about it. It is below and I’m not smiling but I am happy and I have used an fabulous App called Prisma to alter it a bit. A couple of my few fitted shirts now fit and I look and feel better in my other clothes – all black – another thing that will change later – I love COLOUR.

Week 8 Womens HQ

As per previous blogs I stopped getting my hair cut and coloured last October when I cut all my costs so it’s getting some length now and it feels a little bit sexy even! I have a plait in at the moment– it’s only little but it’s a plait. A few months ago I was inspired to buy a new pair of togs – I have only had 1 pair over the past 2 years and they were not very supportive any more – so I actually bought this pair online and they fit so well, hold all my bits in and feel great.

The other benefit is my boys continue to be really proud of me. I guess they love my increased energy – to be honest my weight has never stopped me doing 1000 things at once….a previous blog….but there is talk of climbing a mountain together, and joining a gym which they belong to, and they notice there is always lots of butter in the fridge now…..

The other thing is quality – to make these changes you must have quality – the best fruit, vegetables, oats, muesli, salmon, meat, honey, dates, seeds, paste or whatever you are eating that you can get. It has to taste great and it has to be enjoyable, fresh, nutritious and fulfilling which poor quality food doesn’t offer you.

Week 8

I found at the start I obsessed with this process and had to be really focused – it was one hour at a time; then a day at a time; now it’s becoming pretty normal. I try to never let myself get hungry, always have water by my side, know what I am cooking in advance, make sure I have fresh fruit, vegetables etc on hand in case I get hungry, and often cook more than I need so I have a quick fix if I get caught short.

So I haven’t weighed in yet but I don’t know if I will have lost any this week and that’s ok if I haven’t because I know I have lost size. It will be interesting to see as it has been easy and there has been no wine which I think makes a huge difference mentally and physically. I also have only had one cappuccino and it was soy which I enjoyed but choosing not to buy coffee. Even the pods have been thrown over for tea which I do love.

Here is a link to the benefits of the Acai Berry should you wish to give it a go if you aren’t already like me and love it: https://www.victoriahealth.com/editorial/facts-and-myths-about-acai-berry

So, just weighed in and another half a kilo this week lost. Good feeling. See you next week. Cheers Lee!
