Since I began my health kick now 19 weeks ago, I have noticed subtle changes like stronger fingernails, my hair seem to be growing faster, obviously I am losing weight, I have more energy and I love the taste of my new foods. So it turns out I am eating all of these suggested foods except Hemp Seeds and Camu Camu which I ‘m sure I will find at Kunara Organic Marketplace today when I grab more muesli and Coyo yoghurt – yum!

Every morning now its summer I make up a granola/oat/muesli/fruit brekkie with almond milk and a big dollop of Coyo and it is divine – the muesli has macadamias and raw nuts, plus I add dried cranberries, chia seeds and cacao nibs as a unapologetic treat. Lunch is usually avo, greens, tomatoes, chicken, sometimes balsamic, salt and pepper and dinner is a small portion of whatever is going but I must get back to more vegetables. My treat remains the Acai Bowl which I absolutely crave on week-ends – it is my substitute for a cappuccino which I rarely drink now.

I am trialling a new boutique skin care hydration serum at present so its hard to say if my skin is better because of this as well, but it is definitely firmer and has better colour. I am also trialling an all natural Anti-Odourant which I am loving – it’s made with all natural coconut oil, baking soda, cornflour, beeswax and essential oils. I use olive or coconut oil on my hair for condition plus I have a spray bottle I mix part conditioner and part water and spray in daily to add moisture as it is naturally fine.

What I have found is that I am now craving good foods – the processed food does not cut it. I had some hot chips on Saturday with grilled chicken and salad because I was starving and felt awful after it. All I wanted yesterday was a raw Wagon Wheel from the new One Block Back as I haven’t made any bliss balls for a couple of weeks which always fix my sugar cravings – so I indulged in an ice cream – it also didn’t do it and I felt stupid for not taking 5 minutes to make a batch.

Today I had a watermelon and mint juice with a sweet potato lentil wrap for lunch. I normally take my own but with the boys away I was feeling a bit frivolous and I’m glad I was – it was delicious.

So it continues to excite me that I don’t have to be a pioneer in this field, I am a follower and as such there are so many gorgeous generous souls who put this info out for free – all which they have garnered from years of trial and error – and we are the winners as we can also get the benefit. There are also an increasing number of whole food shops where you can buy the food already prepared which I am loving.

Some of the most beautifying raw foods on the planet are also some of the best you can eat for optimal immunity, along with increased vitality and strength. That’s because many raw foods are high in minerals which are the micronutrients that your body absolutely must have for optimal health.

Without enough minerals, our skin, mood, and immunity all suffer greatly. They keep our bodies functioning on a deeper, cellular level, and the antioxidants found in many raw foods also help improve our beauty and defense mechanisms against various types of disease.

1. Pineapple

Would you believe that pineapple is one of the best sources of Vitamin C you can eat? 

Pineapple’s Vitamin C content rivals that of most all fruits. The delicious sweet fruit contains over 100 percent of your daily Vitamin C needs along with high levels of the enzyme bromelain which helps break down proteins in the body. These properties not only improve digestion and immunity, but they also reduce acidity in the body which increases your body’s alkalinity to prevent inflammation.

Fresh or frozen pineapple is the kind of pineapple you’ll want to consume, though.  Avoid the canned or dried varieties which have been more heavily processed and often have added sugars and/or oils. Use frozen or fresh pineapple in a smoothie, enjoy it as a snack, or pair it with a morning bowl of overnight oats if you like.

The fruit is sold as a freeze-dried, raw powder here in the United States and it adds a sharp, tangy texture to smoothies. Just be sure not to heat camu camu since Vitamin C is heat-sensitive.

3. Raw Cacao

Raw cacao is also high a potent source of antioxidants, flavonoids, and other minerals such as iron and magnesium. Cacao is even high in copper and zinc which improve your immunity and the strength of your blood.
