Week 17 – The H Word…Health

I have many confessions to make this week. It has been 3 weeks since my last …blog. So I am now going to only write the health blog monthly as that is quite enough. I am on the road to good health now and my eating and living patterns are pretty much the same each week  – basically raw wholesome food with some chicken or fish and an abundance of salad, fruit, nuts and veg. It’s a great easy lifestyle choice and I feel fabulous. I do have some wine, sometimes a coffee or 2, and yesterday some organic homemade raw chocolate treats from Tabitha_organic_natural on Instagram or Tabitha’s Raw Food Kitchen on Facebook – amazing girl with awesome treats.

Week 17

My self esteem continues to rise as does my energy, enthusiasm, resistance to criticism, self belief and health. I have a new lease on life and it is directly proportionate to my food intake and my size reduction. I have lost 13.5 kilos since I began and now it is just a part of life – it takes no energy but still requires being organised and I’m am loving the learning curve. I want to lose another 6kg by Christmas and then the rest next year until I reach my goal of 70 kilos. I still have 24 to go.

Week 17 Womens HQ

This industry of healthy living is remarkable. There are so many true health mentors out there who have been treading this path for 20 – 30 years or more and just keep on putting the info out until you are ready to take it on.  Their knowledge is phenomenal and they are just everyday people who chose this lifestyle because it makes sense and they know how great it feels. Unlike all the other rubbish diet companies peddle – don’t get me started.

So, the other confession is that whilst I thought I would never work full time again out of the home – I find myself consulting full time again in events and marketing – and I love it. I really do enjoy being around people and love a chat …….so it’s all good and I hope to save enough to travel overseas each year. My last job gave me a massive ‘kick in the guts’ and I have taken a long time to get over it. I am still angry and feel a huge resentment for the instigators; however that is not serving me so I try not to dwell on it – instead leaving it to my friend Karma.

And all the other writers on this website are so busy working full time, raising families, keeping homes, starting new business, expanding overseas, and some studying as well,  that writing a blog is just one more job that has to be squeezed in and being time poor has made it impossible for them. They are all truly wonderful successful women who without exception are superstars and all are developing successful businesses or careers in Australia and/or Overseas at the same time. I wish them every success and know they will visit to blog when time permits. Congrats to the delightful and incredibly beautiful and driven Marina who graced the cover of the MWP on the Sunny Coast this week.

week-17-l

My favourite shops on the Sunny Coast are Kunara Organic, Flannerys, Acai Brothers, bFresh, and of course my darling Erbachers which is truly the ‘bomb’ for fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts and local milk. I still like BWS and Choice ………but not as much as before…….mostly.

week 17 womens hq

I am fine tuning Womens HQ as I want it to be a positive re-enforcing influence on women 40 plus and a place to learn and share.  It is such a short life and there is so much to experience – it is important to be self aware so that you can grab it with both hands and learn from others. I don’t know where we are going but I do know women rock and I want this website to reinforce this and help women by maintaining a positive influence – a place to focus on improving and re-evaluating ourselves daily – a place to look inward and become better in every way.

Week 17 Womens HQ

As I say – women do so much with so little –women are, by necessity always re-inventing themselves and I love to meet new women who have so much to offer and have led such interesting lives. Our generation – particularly the plus 50’s – has had to adapt to so many changes in life. We go off to have our babies and someone invents the internet! We might have been gun typists but then we had to learn all new technology while married to men from the previous generation who still think a women’s place is in the kitchen – but that the wives should also raise the children and work outside the home to bring in more money. It’s been an incredible battle which the next generation won’t have to experience – I realise they will have their own pressures.

Week 1 Womens HQ

I jumped back on the social horse this week with my first trip to a Chamber meeting in ages – this one in Buderim – this club is called Chamber 4556 and I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised by the friendly happy people capable people I met there. I look forward to continuing to form new friendships in this group. I already have a skin care product I love from one of the ladies which I will tell you about soon.

Week 17 Womens HQ

I also celebrated my 55th birthday yesterday which is another time to reflect on your choices and challenges. It has not been easy – particularly the last few years but I am proud of what I have achieved and particularly the strength of character my 2 sons have – so very proud of the men they have become.  I found out that I love my life, my men, my friends, and my world- so THANK YOU all so much for being a part of my journey.  Talk soon.
